Why You Keep Starting Over (And How to Stop)

May 12, 20262 min read

It usually sounds something like this…

“I’ll start fresh on Monday.”

And this time?
You mean it.

You’re motivated. You have a plan. You’re ready to do things differently.

But then life happens.

A busy day. A missed workout. A couple off-track meals.
And just like that… it feels easier to say:

“I’ll just start again next week.”

I’ve been there more times than I can count.

Starting over with the best intentions… only to find myself back at square one a few days later.

And for a long time, I thought the problem was me.

That I just needed more discipline.
More motivation.
More willpower.

But the truth?

Starting over wasn’t the problem.
The cycle was.

Because every time you “start over,” you’re reinforcing the idea that:

  • You have to be perfect to keep going

  • One off day means you failed

  • Progress only counts if it looks flawless

And that’s what keeps you stuck.

Here’s what actually changed things for me—and for so many of the women I work with:

I stopped starting over.

Not because everything became perfect…
But because I learned how to keep going even when it wasn’t.

Instead of asking:

“Did I do this perfectly today?”

Start asking:

“Did I show up in some way?”

Because consistency isn’t built in perfect weeks.

It’s built in the messy middle:

  • The workout you almost skipped—but did anyway

  • The better choice you made, even if the rest of the day wasn’t perfect

  • The decision to keep going instead of waiting for a fresh start

And here’s the shift most people miss:

Lasting change isn’t about what you do once.
It’s about who you become.

When you start seeing yourself as someone who:

  • Moves her body (even if it’s short and simple)

  • Fuels herself with intention (not perfection)

  • Keeps showing up, no matter what the day looks like

Everything starts to change.

You don’t need another reset.

You don’t need to wait for Monday.

You don’t need a “perfect time” to start again.

You just need to take the next step.

Today.

Even if it’s small.
Even if it’s imperfect.
Even if it looks nothing like you planned.

Because the version of you who stops starting over

Is the version of you who finally builds something that lasts.

If you’re tired of repeating the same cycle and ready to create consistency that actually fits your life—I’d love to help you with that.

You don’t have to do this alone.
